And, many thanks to lovely daegaer, I have finally read volume 4 of Antique Bakery and am even more in love now and really need my own copy. In the throes of withdrawal, I went searching for that cracktastic dj by the same mangaka Fum Yoshinaga where the random fangirls graphically fantasise about Chikage/Tachibana much to Ono's thorough enjoyment. And apparently there is gazillion more djs floating around on ebay, also looking like they were drawn by the same hand. Ohgod want. I have no idea if that's, again, pure gratuitous WTF or "missing scenes" or "what ifs" and I don't think I'll be buying them because words for me are a big part of her stories. And I'll have no chance in hell to read those. They even lettered in longhand.

Nevertheless!!! I've saved some cover images and shall post them here for no other reason than spreading the joy. I'm trying out the scrapbook thing so please tell me if it misbehaves.

Tachibana guy: KYA!! Wha- wha- wha- What's wrong?! My kiss isn't supposed to get that kind of reaction! (I'm guessing A LOT here because I can't actually read the bottom 2 characters ie they are BADLY WRITTEN Y_Y - I based my guess on the fact that what I can read is anata no kizu-te: 'my kissing (you)' and sonna ni: 'that sort of thing')

Ono: You look like...

Tachibana guy: Ha?

Ono: You look like someone I loved...

Hey, based on what I managed to read/translate, I'm wondering if this dj isn't a side story? ie the guy that took poor broken hearted schoolboy!Ono away that first night and SEXED HIM UP. Kate, sweetheart didn't you ask me something about who that guy was once and whether he appeared in vol4 in regards to PORN YOU WERE WRITING...? EHem.

Yeah. Ono uses the word for 'resemble' so there's no mistaking his meaning (which occurs in Japanese text more than I care to think about...)

You are most welcome. I'm a pretty poor translator, but I can do pages here and there providing there's not too much dialogue (like that's a feature of Yoshinaga's work! O_o)
